I may have to stop saying, "I'm a sucker for any song with a mandolin," ever since this happened.
I saw Diamond Dave's Bluegrass Revue as I surfed past "The Tonight Show" last night. Their remake of "Jump" gave a new angle to the term breakdown. The whole surreal experience made me long for Aztec Camera's awesome cover, so I went and listened to that.
A few years ago Del McCoury crossed paths with Phish and got a whole new granola-eating, sway-dancing, jam-ban fan base. I'm scared to think what this cross-pollination with David Lee Roth means for future Del shows. That's all we need: a bunch of Van Halen* fans!
