George made a great impression on JMS and me, and after reading about his Mercedes Marathon accomplishments I thought I would see what other facts I might find on the internet. What I learned really wasn't so surprising, given George's spirit and outlook. He had mentioned that he works at a fitness center -- well, it turns out it's an inner-city ministry in the Over-the-Rhine section of downtown Cincinnati.
George had mentioned in our conversation that most of his clients are mostly weightlifters, and his running group is one way he helps them try a different form of exercise. The Lord's Gym is one of a number of outreaches in Cincinnati, and it sounds like it's making a difference.
I meet the most amazing people in Birmingham.
